WELCOME

Welcome to the International Conference on Early Foreign Language Learning in Educational Contexts. Bridging Good Practices and Research.
Two Universities – The University of Bari (Italy) and the Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona, Spain) – are proud to host this Conference.
The Conference is an opportunity to bring together practitioners and researchers in the field of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). We mind to discuss how theory and practice may be reconciled in such a way that they become relevant.
Since these two areas have little or no contact and there is an excellent work carried out by each side, the organizing committee aims at building solid bridges across University and School contexts, engaging practising teachers in ongoing research and bringing everyday classroom reality nearer to theoreticians in an open discussion forum. Moreover, we would like to establish a dialogue between the emerging experts and the teachers, so that the reflection on teaching and learning practices becomes relevant and rewarding for the participants involved in Early Foreign Language Learning.
The Conference is addressed to Teachers, Teacher Trainers, Researchers in Foreign Language Learning, Administrators and Heads of Departments setting up new programmes and anyone interested.
We hope that the experience will be enjoyable for everyone.

VENUE
Bari is an agreeable place to stay.
A hustling and bustling place, Bari is a city imbued in its century-old richness of Byzantine origin, enclosed by the walls. It is one of the most fascinating centres in southern Italy: a stroll in the alleys is a worthwhile experience, amidst the medieval atmosphere still unscathed and less trodden by tourists. (for further information see http://www.pugliaturismo.com/aptbari/inglese/bari.html)
The University of Bari is a university located in Bari, Italy. It was founded in 1925 and is organized in 12 Faculties. (see www.uniba.it)
All conference activities, including registration, will take place at the University of Bari, Palazzo Ateneo, Piazza Umberto I, Bari.
We are looking forward to meeting all of you in Bari.
